What is the difference between branding and brand identity?
A Brand defines a customer's overall perception of your business.
At the core, it's the process of identifying your target market and creating a mission statement of your business's values. What problem in the market are you trying to solve, and for whom? How do you go about solving it in a way that is different from your competitors? These answers resonate throughout every fiber of your business and are where your brand starts.
Brand Identity is an incredibly important component of an overall branding strategy. It lives under the umbrella of Branding. Once the "who" and the "how" are identified, you can begin crafting an identity that aligns with your brand's core mission—using a logo, typography, color psychology, and a voice in your messaging to differentiate yourself from your competition. In a vast ocean of businesses, your Brand Identity is the highly visible sail of your ship.
Now, creating these quality visual and tonal assets is your business's secret sauce. And that's our specialty. Taking your mission and unique qualities, then making them tangible.
Branding isn't about a beautiful logo. It's about solving problems for your specific audience in your distinctive way. Your logo and messaging are based on these principles and are used to create an image to identify you quickly.
Not sure what your mission is? That’s ok. We can help you flush it out.
What makes an effective logo?
A logo is an immeasurably powerful tool, but of the many jobs it has, telling your business's story is not one of them. You will create this. The equity you build with the public by engaging in commerce will shape this.
Similarly, a logo's job is not telling your history or how you arrived at this stage of your professional life.
Your logo has one job: To quickly, at a glance, be the visual representation of your service, your business, or your non-profit. Your logo should be appropriate, distinctive, and simple. A powerful logo is not about what one likes or dislikes; it's about what works. Our job is to be objective and focus on functionality. Your job is to let go of subjective preferences like color, shapes, lines, or angles. If the logo performs and functions well, you will love it over time because it is your logo, and it represents the journey your business is on.
We'll gladly help you frame the story of your business, but that is not the job of a good mark. Instead, we want to ensure that someone can close their eyes and describe your logo or sketch it with ease.
For these reasons, the simplest solution is always the most effective one, particularly since much is required of a modern logo. It must be clear and legible in every application. The mark must represent your business in print, web, digital, pixel, color, and black and white.
We'll explore ideas based on the mission of your business, the market you're entering or exist in, your target audience, and your competitors.
We have fun with this. The process is what keeps us up at night and gets us up early in the morning. Remember, an effective logo mark isn't the sentence; it's the period at the end of the sentence.
What does SEO mean?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Very simply, it's a strategy that helps search engines find your site. SEO helps build organic (free) traffic to your website.
On-Page SEO is directly influenced by your Page Quality (Keywords and Relevancy), Page & URL Structure, Internal Linking, and Page Performance. These characteristics are woven throughout the website using thoughtful copywriting and precise site structure. We also take into account Alt Images, image file size, and page loading speeds. This is called Technical SEO. We build every site with Technical SEO in mind.
Off-Page SEO is influenced primarily through Backlinks and Domain Authority. Backlinks occur when other websites link back to yours. Those links from outside sites "vouch" for your content tell search engines your site is relevant for the user. This “vouching” happens in several ways. You can use social media to send followers to your site, submit guest blog posts to industry websites, and join review and directory sites to build citations and boost your Local SEO efforts.
Local SEO directly effects your local marketing efforts. Making sure your site and local directories have your NAP confirms to Google where you are located. This helps you appear in map packs and local searches.
How does pricing work? Do you charge hourly?
We price packages based on the number of items, their scope of work, and value delivered to the customer.
To give you a ballpark, we generally work with budgets between $5,000 to $30,000. This may seem like a broad range, but the amount of assets being built per project varies. Sometimes it’s a single landing page with a branding package. Other times, it’s a 30 page eCommerce website with previously established branding.
Schedule a meeting with us. We’ll discuss your goals and see if we’re a good fit for each other. Our conversation is generally around 30 minutes. We’ll ask questions about your business, assess your customers’ needs, and how to communicate with them. Based on your needs we’ll devise a quote with work scope. After, we will send this quote and scope of work for your approval. If it looks good, we’ll send a contract and an invoice for a 50% down payment. After payment is received, we’ll begin work. The remaining 50% will be invoiced after we deliver your assets.
How do you build your websites? Do you use Wordpress?
Can we code? Yes. Do we? Nope. It’s time-consuming and would cost you a small fortune. Bad for both parties.
Do we use WordPress? It’s an excellent service but...
No. WordPress is great for people who want to navigate a slick template or hire an agency to build and manage that template for them. That’s not what we do.
We’re designers. We build from scratch. Designing is what we love to do. We make sites geared specifically for the needs of each client: different problems, individual solutions. We use an incredible and robust platform called WebFlow. In a nutshell, it’s a tool that gives us the power and versatility of an in-house coder, yet saves time and allows us to focus on great design. UX/UI design is the name of the game, and it’s where we thrive. Your customers want an easy to navigate and beautiful experience. And you want a beautiful and functional site that you can control without costly, on-going management fees. Along with being design-focused, we can incorporate all of Webflow's beefy business integrations to accommodate your needs. eCommerce? CMS? Email Marketing? Yes, yes, and yes. Your site will seamlessly integrate with mobile devices and tablets.
